IYF COMMITTEES OVERVIEW
 
To enhance the development and organization of international yoga activities, the International Yoga Federation (IYF) establishes several specialized committees. Each committee focuses on a specific area to ensure the highest standards of yoga practice, education, competition, and events. Below are the descriptions of the formed committees:
 
Athletes' Committee
This committee represents the interests of yoga athletes worldwide. It aims to provide support, guidance, and advocacy for athletes engaged in yoga sports. The committee:
- Ensures fair treatment and opportunities for all yoga athletes.
- Promotes ethical and professional standards in yoga competitions.
- Assists in developing training programs for yoga athletes.
- Acts as a bridge between athletes and the IYF leadership.
 
Education Committee
The Education Committee focuses on the development and standardization of yoga education worldwide. This committee:
- Establishes guidelines for yoga expert training and certification.
- Develops curriculum and educational materials for yoga schools and practitioners.
- Promotes research and scientific studies on the benefits of yoga.
- Organizes workshops, seminars, and training programs for yoga educators.
 
Technical Committee
The Technical Committee is responsible for setting technical standards for yoga practices and competitions. The committee:
- Defines competition rules and technical guidelines.
- Standardizes scoring criteria and judging regulations for yoga competitions.
- Provides training and certification for judges and referees.
- Supports the development of new technical advancements in yoga sports.
 
Competition Committee
This committee is dedicated to organizing and managing yoga competitions globally. It:
- Develops and oversee the international yoga competition calendar.
- Ensures transparency and fairness in all competitive events.
- Works with national federations to promote yoga as a sport.
- Creates pathways for athletes to progress from local to international levels.
 
Festival & Events Committee
The Festival and Events Committee is responsible for planning and executing international yoga festivals, conferences, and special events. The committee:
- Organizes large-scale yoga festivals and gatherings worldwide.
- Supports cultural exchange through international yoga events.
- Collaborates with institutions and organizations to promote yoga globally.
- Encourages participation in yoga celebrations such as IYF-endorsed events.
 
Each committee plays a vital role in strengthening the global yoga community and ensuring the continuous evolution of yoga as a practice, sport, and philosophy.
