VISION, MISSION, AIMS AND PURPOSES OF INTERNATIONAL YOGA FEDERATION

About the International Yoga Federation (IYF)

The International Yoga Federation (IYF) is a global non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting yoga as both a sport and a pathway to physical, mental, and social well-being. With a presence in over 60 countries, the IYF serves as an inclusive global platform that connects yoga practitioners, schools, experts, and organizations.

IYF actively promotes yoga as a sport and strives to have it recognized as an Olympic discipline, advocating for its global acceptance through official channels. To achieve this goal, the Federation organizes Yoga Championships and International Yoga Festivals, providing opportunities for all chilren, youth, adults and matures to showcase the power, discipline, and grace of yoga in a structured and inspiring environment.

We believe yoga is more than just a practice—it is a transformative force that empowers individuals and unites communities. Through education, certification programs, festivals, retreats, events, and awareness campaigns, the IYF promotes the integration of yoga into daily life and public policy.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), IYF supports yoga-based initiatives that promote public health, empower youth and women, advance gender equality, combat violence against women and children, address drug abuse, tackle climate change, foster peacebuilding, and raise environmental awareness.

Join us in shaping a healthier, more conscious, and more connected world—one breath, one movement, and one global community at a time.
